GUEST TODAY

Fasih ur Rehman

Post: Press Secretary ISF-Islamabad,   Studying in International Islamic University Islamabad.

Doing bachelors in Media and communications

How does it feels to hold a honorable desgination in party which is considered as a rising sun in the country

Ans: Although it has never been my concern to grab a designation in any party, it certainly is a matter of great honor for me that I’ve been trusted to be able to hold such eminent position in a party which is deemed to be abolitionist and has got true respect among the masses. Besides, it gives me a sense of great responsibility which has been laid upon my shoulders. The best thing is that I am able to play a little part (in my capacity) that may help my country in a positive manner and I think it is far better than sitting idle and criticizing.

What is the difference between ISF and other student Unions

Ans: ISF has no place for goons and the power hungry people. ISF youth is not directionless. They do have an agenda. ISF people are not traditional power hungry or the book-phobic people. A major difference, which is quite evident also, is that the ISF people are mostly ‘the first-timers’; it consists of the people who used to actually refrained from politics in the past. As we all know that the situation we are currently in is really serious and sort of a verge. Most of us have very justifiably analyzed that it is the last chance now. Our educated youth has foreseen the circumstances and has jumped into the arena. It can be seen that the ISF youth is very active and enthusiastic under the leadership of Imran Khan just as the Muslim youth of Hindustan used to be under the leadership of the great Quaid Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

What is the eligibility criteria ,like if anyone can join it ,you never know that whether that person is an honest guy or not,as that will damage the repuatation of the party

There is not and there should not be any criterion for joining the party; we cannot stop anyone to convert or to announce that he has converted. If you intend to ask the criteria of holding official party designations, then yes, there is a very clear and strict criterion. No one has ever been appointed on any designation without assessing him on certain grounds like his assets, the means through which he made those assets, his criminal record and reputation etc. PTI is actually very strict and clear on the matter of merit.

What steps have you taken to  create a political sense among youth and to align their interest with that of the shareholders

All of the PTI and the ISF members first of all present themselves as role models just like their leader, Imran Khan, who, we all know, has been criticizing the corrupt elite class ever since he has stepped into politics and still he has never been accused of having plundered a single penny, a single case of injustice on anyone’s part, a single blame of mismanagement or a single clue of compromising on his principles. The same are my manners; I have always advocated the right instead of fighting for my personal benefits. Besides, I have argued and logically convinced many educated and uneducated people to change their minds and come out of the traditional mind set of supporting the one who has been being supported by our ancestors or the mind set of supporting a feudal lord because of his high turban, long car, stretched land, army of gunmen, PR, relations inside the avenues of power and things like. Alhamdulila, we are witnessing a change. We have not only imparted a political sense to the people but also we have made them change their minds so as to alter their interests in the interest of the nation.

Do you think that elder people will allow youth to empower themselves in the government?

It is a real irony that a person stuck to the politics keeps sticking like a leech not giving a damn to the fact that he has turned bald, become edentulous and lacks sense; he would just sit in the avenues uselessly unless he dies and then come his old successors. So, it is certainly not easy for the youth to replace the old people peacefully; there will be a collision. Youth has now got to be sort of insolent and they are ready to overrun this time.

Your student federation’s moto is justice, tolerance and knowledge,

Is there any minimum legal requirement to become an active member of ISF

As far as membership is concerned, there is again no restriction on anyone to either convert or to claim that he has converted. Those who disagree won’t even bother to join and If we talk about criterion for holding official positions in ISF, then yes, there is a strict criterion. You won’t find any ISF activist be involved in criminal activities or messing up with other party members for showing power or any thing like that.

Isnt Tolerance a tough task for youth

Tolerance is a difficult task for the frustrated people; they reply to injustice with injustice and extremism, while ISF (like PTI) has given a platform to the downfallen people and that is why people are now pretty patient; had PTI not been there, frustration could have created a very different situation.

What is justice according to ISF ,

Not giving their rights to the people is injustice. Flourishing personal businesses on tax money is injustice. Making the rich richer and the poor poorer is injustice. Giving quality of life to a fraction of people and depriving the rest is injustice. Law being strong for the weak people and being weak for the strong people is injustice.

Dont you think that ISF consists most of the “burger party” ,”Mommy daddy” kind of people rather then people belonging from a middle class

This is a huge misperception. I, myself belong to a middle class family and ISF does not consist of a particular class of people. There is place for everyone regardless of caste and class and in the federation one can find a fair representation of all classes. ISF consists of the “burger party” too (along with all other types of people from our society). It is more prominent than anything else only because the “burger party” has come into politics for the very first time. Otherwise, “burger party” fraction of our society alone cannot make a crowd of 400,000 people at Karachi Jalsa or a crown of 300,000 people at Lahore Jlasa, its very simple

Chairman IK,said on 30 th October ,that there will be a mass civil disobedience if the politicians doesn’t disclose their assets ,now its not same, why have nt ISF risen this issue

Civil disobedience can never be a priority of any reasonable person; it has got sever repercussions and we have to avoid it as far as possible. That is an option which can be utilized in case of a point of no return. Many other more important and sensitive issues like memo issue and the Balochistan crisis have unrolled in the middle of the situation. We have to wait.
What is the vision of ISF and what is the purpose of its existence

Purpose of ISF is to provide the young lot with a positive, productive and genuine platform to keep away from extremism and frustration caused by the bleak and desolate atmosphere, instead they would be able to utilize their powers positively and put a combined effort for the making of a new Pakistan.

Do you think that PTI will be successful as it now have member which were the ally of the current ruling elite

There is no ban on announcing to become a member or to announce that “I shall vote for PTI”, we are rather vying for winning the elections. PTI has never announced seats for anyone from ruling elite except for three people whose honesty is manifest and attested by the people of Pakistan. Otherwise, PTI CEC has made it very clear on many occasions that the party will constitute a legal committee which will be responsible of assessing the individuals claiming the party seats. No one will be given a party ticket or any official status by the party without the approval of that committee whose findings about the individuals will be brought out to the public.

Is ISF taught  Khilafat ?

ISF is taught Islam only, and that is the simple but elaborate answer. System of Government does not matter, Islamic principles, Islamic teachings and Islamic laws should be prevalent and that’s it.

PTI says that it will implement Sharia law within the country if they come in power ,is ISF working on this?are they telling their student members about this,

It has been admitted by experts from around the world that the constitution of Pakistan, in its essence, is the nearest to Islamic values in all respects of all the constitutions in the Muslim world. The problem is that law has never been observed in a manner it should have been. I have already mentioned that law holds only for the lower ransacked class of the society. It is a well know saying of Hazrat Ali (RA) that a society can survive with Kufr but cannot survive with injustice. Justice is the motto of PTI. PTI succeeds, law will be equally strong and will equally hold for everyone.

To be ideal ,you yourself got to be perfect, what do you think that you could represent to their  members under your leadership?

I have already mentioned in detail that ISF members are taught to present themselves as role models. People listen to and trust on the ISF people because they are practical and they make and present themselves as gentlemen.

Is there any social work carried out by ISF

The whole ISF is  social work. The students do all participation and activity voluntarily and without pay. Moreover the female members alongwith leadership have been visiting slums in Islamabad and have helped them in the near past. There is a project in pipe line about helping needy students in their education by raising funds and also assisting through providing volunteer tutorial services by ISF members.

Do you think that during studies student can give time to politics

Politics is not a part time thing. It is the part and parcel of social life. In fact, the time wasted by youth in unhealthy activities should be given to politics but of course this should not be done at the cost of studies. A balance has to be maintained which is not an impossible task.

What are you thoughts on drone attacks, and the resupply of Nato

We believe in establishing our and only our rule within the boundaries of our country. We don’t believe in interfering with any one else’ matters and we don’t permit anyone to meddle in our affairs. We neither support invading any country nor can we assist anyone in launching invasion or prolonging occupation. We believe in educating them instead of cursing them for ignorance, we believe in giving jobs to them instead of blaming them for extremism, we believe in giving them facilities and bringing them into the mainstream instead of desolating them and bombing them with drones.

What is the best solution to avoid clotting of  money at one particular class of people

The policy of asset declaration as well as effective tax collection and strict implementation can solve the problem. This will discourage wealth accumulation and clotting of money in a few hands.

Last but not least what are the qualities that inspires you to follow Imran Khan and be his party member.

His honesty, unending passion and determination compel me to invest my hope, my efforts and my belief in him and in PT
